Simi Valley Forklift Attachments - Simi Valley lies in Southeast Ventura County roughly 27 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles. As of December 2005, the city had a total population of 126,329, making it the 3rd biggest city within Ventura County. It was incorporated in 1969 and has a total area of 42 square miles.

It is assumed that the cities name first originated from the Chumash Indian Village Himeji. Originally, the city was separated into two cities: Simi and Tapo. The Indians who settled within the city were extremely intelligent. They used the acorns from the Coast Live Oak (the cities official tree) and the rosehips from the California Wild Rose (the cities official flower) in order to help supplement their diet.

One of the biggest land grants within history was made during the year 1795 to the city of Simi Valley. A total of 100,000 acres of land (called El Rancho San Jose de Garcia de Simi) were granted to Santiago Pico and Luis Pena by Governor Diego de Borica of Spanish California.

In Simi Valley, there are two major businesses located on opposite sides of the city. Situated within the east is the machinery and tools trade, that comprises a total of 69 companies. The metal industry is within the west and has a total of 51 firms. various trades which are littered throughout the cities industrial sectors are Lumber/Wood, Apparel/Textile, Food, Minerals and Plastic Materials.

The largest division of the Bank of America, (Formally the Countrywide Home Loans) has been headquartered within the Simi Valley, since the mid 1990's. This Company has three main office buildings in the city. One is situated in a building just off Madera Road, that was once home to Bugle Boy, an apparel business. Another is located on Tapo Canyon, and the third is situated on First Street.

During 2006, The Volkswagen of America Design centre moved from Simi Valley to Santa Monica. During its run in Simi Valley, the business employed a few automotive designers which are now global known for their skill. Jay Mays (now VP Design for Ford and Freeman Thomas) and Thomas (who helped co design the original Audi TT) used to call Simi Valley home. The space has ever since been developed into an industrial complex.
