It was incorporated on April 10th, 1909 and has ever since developed a population of more than 104,655. The fine wineries of Napa are situated only a half hour away, as are Folsom Lake and Lake Tahoe. Roseville has a lot of parks and golf courses and thousands of acres of open space.

The city boasts superb recreation and educational programs, making it a family friendly community. Several of schools within the city have won the California Distinguished School Award. There are lots of colleges nearby, with California State University, in Sacramento, Sierra Community College, and the University of California, Davis all within a thirty minute drive away.
